I took the images i had previously used and sized them, centred them and cropped them so that they were in 3 layers; the eyes, the nose and the mouth. Inspired by the Ugly Betty Intro, i wanted to make them fly across the screen. I figured this could all be done in a simple movie editing program but i was wrong. LUCKILY we have an After Effects lesson once every 3 weeks so i took what i learnt from that and somehow managed to create this video.
I put each persons facial feature in a line with all the others e.g. all the eyes on one line, all the mouths on another line, etc... this meant that they would give a sort of slot machine effect when they fly across the screen. I also coloured the backgrounds to make it more obvious.
After days in After Effects, fiddling about with settings, playing it, fiddling with more settings, adding in a few greetings that were on the original Golden Record, moving it about and whatever else, i finally finished the video.
