Most Haunted...

Ghosts In Yorkshire

Yorkshire is OFFICIALLY the most haunted county in England
For straight-up hauntings, Yorkshire comes in first with a whopping 404. These are your bog-standard apparitions that can be seen, heard, smelled or otherwise sensed.
It was hard to pick a good one from this huge list of reports. We find the tale of Kitty Garthwaite, who haunts the River Dove, interesting:

"Kitty drowned herself after being jilted by her lover, having told him that she was pregnant. She now hates men to such a degree, that she has been seen naked, luring men into the water to kill them."

Black Eyed Children

THE GHOST of the The Black Eyed Child has been spotted for the first time in 30 years, sparking a paranormal investigation into the infamous spectre.
Sightings of the ghoul around the marshy countryside of Cannock Chase, a notorious area for paranormal sightings in Staffordshire, were first recorded in the 1980s.
But after a recent encounter, it seems the haunting spirit has returned.
Lee Brickley, a ghost expert who runs the blog Paranormalcannock, is looking into the claims after a woman wrote to him telling of her experience with the girl.
The woman told him: "Around 2 months ago my daughter and I were walking through Birches Valley (an area well known for it's spectral sightings) when we heard the screams of a young child.
"I couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl, but they definitely seemed in distress and sounded very close to us, so we instantly started running towards the noise.
"We couldn't find the child anywhere and so stopped to catch our breath, that's when I turned round and saw a girl stood behind me, no more than 10 years old, with her hands over her eyes.
"She then put her arms down by her side and opened her eyes, which is when I saw they were completely black, no iris, no white, nothing.
"I jumped back and grabbed my daughter, when I looked again, the child was gone."

Lee, 28, from Cannock, reminded readers of how the woman's account backed up stories from 30 years ago that backed up her claims.
He wrote: “In the summer of 1982, my aunt was 18 years old, and she and her friends would often meet on Cannock Chase in the evening time, probably in much the same way many teenagers still do today.
“One evening, just before dark, she heard a little girl frantically shouting for help. Rushing to locate the sound, she stumbled upon a dirt track and caught sight of the girl, about six years old running in the opposite direction.
“When my aunt caught up, the girl turned around and looked her in the eyes, and then ran off into the dark woodland. Her eyes had been completely black with no trace of white.
“There was a police search but to no avail. At the time, no-one had any reason to believe anything paranormal was going on. The girl certainly appeared to be of flesh and blood.”
Black Eyed Children have said to be commonly sighted all over the world.
Reports from the US have shown people seeing groups of the spooky phenomenon appearing in gardens of unsuspecting residents.
US journalist Brian Bethel described the moment in 1998 that two young kids approaching his car window as they stared him down with coal-black eyes.
He told Reporter News last year: "There was a knock on my driver's side window.
"Two young boys, somewhere between nine to 12 years old and dressed in hooded pullovers, stood outside.
"I cracked the window a bit, anticipating a spiel for money, but I was immediately gripped by an incomprehensible, soul-wracking fear. I had no idea why.
"Both boys stared at me with coal-black eyes. The sort of eyes one sees these days on aliens or bargain-basement vampires on late night television.
Soulless orbs like two great swathes of starless night.”
The journalist said he drove away in fear.
Others have talked about the small children asking to come inside to people's houses, possibly ghosts of youngsters who had died at the site of the home.
According to one of Brickley's Demonic Black-Eyed Children blogs, demonic children are one of the most dangerous spirits.
And he claims that they are the purest form of evil and can be extremely harmful to humans.

Wakefield Pub Haunting

I went with local paranormal investigators Truth Finders and BBC Radio Leeds to
The Mill, in Ossett, for a ghost hunt that was broadcast live as part of the station’s week-long investigation into the weirder side of West Yorkshire.
Grown men have been known to flee in fear from the pub’s games room and kitchen and staff have refused to enter some rooms in the Dewsbury Road drinking hole owned by new landlord Richard Jones and his wife Linda.
Richard said: “The salt and pepper pots will be on the table when we leave them at night but when we come in the next day, they will be on the floor.”
Group member Toby Ion had one of his scariest ever experiences at the pub. He said: “I was in the kitchen setting up a voice recording experiment. I was counting to test the tape and, as I did, there was a really loud bang in front of me like someone banging on the worktop. I am usually quite brave but I have never run so fast in my life. “It is one of the most frightening experiences I have ever had. But, I’m glad I caught it on tape. In the past the team have also caught little lights on camera, which are thought to be orbs – the first sign of a ghostly manifestation.”

The team, who are all sceptics determined to find out the truth, set up eight night-vision cameras to keep a close eye on every corner of the pub. These were overlooked by paranormal investigator Shev Scorer from a makeshift control room. Motion sensors were placed around the building as a back-up to detect other ghostly goings-on. But this time, it was Toby’s voice-recording experiments and ghostbusting traps that made for the most excitement. Trigger objects were set up in the kitchen and the games room. Coins placed on a piece of paper were drawn around so that movement could be monitored and, if that wasn’t bad enough, the explanation given by the team’s medium Su Walduck made matters worse.
Su said she had picked up on the sound of children laughing in the area. She said: “I can see a little girl. I think she is called Ellie. She has a younger brother, he is only two or three. I can see him reaching up and moving the coins – he thinks it’s a game.”
In the bar, Su had picked up an a man and a woman and had to leave because the experience made it hard for her to breathe. She said: “It was really overwhelming. I pick up on things
like that. If someone has died in a fire or from something that affected their breathing, it affects my breathing, too.” The coins moved a few times in the night, mainly when we were in the room with them. Toby said: “I have never seen anything like it before. I am amazed by what I have seen here tonight.”
Toby was even more amazed when he was talking about voice recording experiments and a strange voice was picked up on the group’s walkie talkies.
Truth Finders front man Stephen Nugent, said: “It could have been a passing taxi but we had not had anything like this all night and for it to happen at the exact moment when Toby said voices can be picked up through different things was just unbelievable.

How Electrocution Through Water Works

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcrY59nGxBg

The water container I showed in the video can scale up to a swimming pool, with the finger being a full size body and the distance of the wires also scaled up to match the proportions of the pool.
Of course I didn’t measure the current through my fingers and there are no vital organs in a finger. So let’s play it safe: where I feel the electricity in my finger, you are dead!
You can imagine a pool of water is like a big network of resistors. Depending on where the source is, how far apart the wires are and where the body in the water is, the feel of electricity is different. But here’s some general rules to understand the voltage across the body:
•The maximum voltage across the body is when each wire is on one side of a body and closest to the skin.
•The further apart the wires are, the more voltage there will be across further distances in a pool and can be felt in further distances
•There doesn’t need to be both live and neutral wires in the water to be dangerous. Neutral or earth is already connected through metal plumbing or conductive material or soil on the body of the pool, unless the pool is made of plastic or none conductive material. So the live wire in the water can be even more dangerous as the neutral can anywhere across the swimmer’s body.
•The more chemicals like cleaners or salt there is in the water, the more conductive the water becomes.
